Friday I went to meet with the surgeon that will be doing orthognathic surgery to correct my open bite. He didn't really say anything different from what the orthodontist has told me, but I guess it was a necessary 3 hour visit. I will probably be in braces for about 18 months, they will do upper jaw surgery in which they will shave part of the bone and move my upper jaw into place, at that time my lower jaw will more than likely rotate and they will than have to do a surgery to move that one to where it should be. I'll be on a liquid diet for 1 week and than a no chewing diet for about 2 months. He also plans to do a Chin Augmentation (chin implant), so there will be a big change in my profile. They said swelling and pain will be equivalent to when I had my wisdom teeth removed, so not too bad..
Here are some before pictures

rrrrrrr my big 'ol teeth
I wanted to take pictues of my molds but when the surgen stuck them back together he had some trouble and it makes my bite look like it's off a lot more than it is. They are stuck together pretty good and I don't want to bake them.
