Keelin Gets High

I woke up with a cold Monday and I hoped Keelin would not catch it but she did. She started running a fever Thursday afternoon and instead of staying down after her bath it started getting higher. We called the doctor’s office to find out what we could/should do and getting the information was way more difficult then it should have been.

The next paragraph will be a run down of how many times I was transferred while trying to find out what to do, feel free to skip over it.

I could not find the magnet with the pedi nurse line so I just called the general number and asked to be transferred and was told the pedi nurse line is only open late on Monday’s (I guess kids only get sick late in the day on Monday). I explained that my 10 week only daughter had a fever and wanted to leave a message with someone that could give me advice so I was transferred and after I gave all my info and the details of the situation the helpful person said they would leave a message for her dr and asked if in the mean time I would like to talk to a nurse. I let her know that I did want to talk to a nurse but was told the pedi nurse line was close, she confirmed that it was close but said I could talk to a nurse in the urgent care unit. I gave the urgent care nurse all our info and was first told I should be taking her temperature rectally because it is much more accurate, or we could get an ear thermometer (thanks for the tip) and then she asked me if I wanted to speak to the pediatrician on call. Really all’s I wanted was to talk to a human being who’s profession qualified them to tell me what I could give her or do to make her comfortable and bring her fever down. The pediatrician said we could give her infant tylenol but it was really only necessary if the fever got to 100 degrees (which it was pretty close to at this point) and again was told I should be taking Keelin’s temperature rectally.

Pablo went to target and got some infant Tylenol, no thanks to the helpful pharmacy assistant who told him it was taken off the market, and he got an ear thermometer which is awesome.

The tylenol got her temperature down to normal in about 30 minuets and made her super high see

I don't think the picture gives the full sence of how spaced out she looked.

I got well fairly quickly, hopfully she does too.

If you came through it pretty fast she will too. She gets a lot of help with your anti-bodies.

Sorry she was sick. That's very unfun. I like seeing those big brown eyes peeking out from that blanket though. So she's high, but cute.
