20 Weeks

Half way WOOO HOO!

I came home Thursday to a box of pregnant lady clothes because my mom either loves me a lot, or was embarrassed to be seen with me in clothes that were clearly too small. Either way I love them. I went to target to get a white shirt for one of the skirts she bought me and found a rack with $3 & $4 tee’s so now I think I'm set with shirts and meeting clothes.

I never got a call last week to set an appointment for the official ultrasound so I'm going to have to call them Monday or Tuesday to find out what the deal is.

I started this Saturday, now it’s Sunday

We went to our first birthing class today, it was very interesting. I think it will help a lot in the way of being prepared and having a better understanding of what our options are.

I finally got myself to the gym Friday. I walked a mile (I know big deal), and did some stretching and squats and lunges. I figure in a week or so I’ll be back up to my normal cardio, which wasn’t really much, and I’m going to look though my books to find a variety of strength training excises recommended for pregnancy and labor.

It’s now Monday

I’ve been complaining since the end of last week that I had a lot of discomfort under my left rib cage, and when I was push on the sore area it seemed like I could push one of my ribs off the one above it into it’s proper place, but when I let go it would slide back onto the one above it. In our birth class we learned some poses that are supposed to get the baby to move into different positions so Pablo suggested I try one to see if the baby one move. I doubted it would work, but since I’m supposed to be practicing what I learned I decided to give it a try. And wouldn’t you know it worked. After about 10-15 minuets of practicing the pose I sat down and the pressure was gone and all my ribs seemed to be where they belonged. I am starting to notice some pressure again today, so I think I’m going to have to work on it for a few more nights, hopefully I can convince her that right up against my rib cage is really not an ideal place to be.

Aside from the heart burn and current weird rib thing I have to say the first half of pregnancy has been a lot easier than I expected. I was never really sick; I didn’t have any of the weird gross problems I read about being associated with pregnancy; although I don’t think it’s too late for some. Since I’m generally pretty lazy I didn’t realize just how tired I was during the first trimester till it was over. Waking up in the middle of the night to pee is no longer a big deal, and I’ve come to appreciate the fact that I cannot sleep in on the weekends since it gives me time to read and do things I normally wouldn’t have time for.

Our camera is on the way back from being fixed by the manufacture, so this will be the last belly pic taken with our cell phone. Enjoy

(normally I enter my current weight here, but I'll just say it's good I found my gym pass)
