Late Updates

We got most of the house put together last weekend. There are a few boxes in our room I need to go though, but for the most part I think those are going to just be put in the closets upstairs until we find some sort of shelving system we like. I forgot how expensive moving was. No matter how much crap we already have, when we move there is always a new list of stuff we suddenly need (want).

I should be getting a call some time this week to set up my official ultrasound; hopefully I can have the appointment next week.

We start our birthing class this Sunday at 1pm; I’m pretty excited.

I am starting to think I can feel the baby moving, but I’m still not sure if it’s her or just air.

Have I mentioned lately how much I don’t like heartburn? I have it every single day no matter what I eat or don’t eat, it’s LAME

You are currently in Week 20

From APA -

What changes are occurring with your body?
The top of your uterus is now at the same level as your belly button. You may have gained an average of 8 to 10 pounds up until this point. Expect to gain ½ a pound to one pound per week during the rest of your pregnancy. The amount of weight may be more or less depending on your pre-pregnancy weight. Your doctor or midwife should let you know how your weight gain is doing and if you need to make any adjustments in your eating and activity level.

How big is your baby?
Up until this point your baby’s length was measured from the crown of their head to the bottom of their rear end. Now your baby’s length is measured from crown to heel. Your baby is about 8 inches long and weighs 9 ounces.

What is happening with your baby?
Your baby is covered in a white substance called vernix caseosa. This substance helps protect your baby’s skin from becoming irritated while submersed in amniotic fluid, and it also aids the baby's passage through the birth canal during labor.
Your baby is beginning to produce meconium, a dark green or black sticky substance that constitutes a baby’s first messy diaper. A few babies pass meconium while in the uterus or during labor. Meconium consists of cell loss, amniotic fluid that has been swallowed, and digestive secretions.

From WebMD

You're at about the midpoint of your pregnancy. He can hear sounds by now – so talk to your baby often. Baby will even cover his ears with his hands if a loud sound is made near you, and he may even become startled and "jump." Your baby is moving often, too -- twisting, turning, wiggling, punching and kicking. Can you feel him?

I feel your pain -- I had heartburn with Brittany too. My doc had told me Maalox was ok to take and I did use it occasionally .. it REALLY helped.
