Dr. Appointment

One of the dr left the practice which is actually good because instead of rotating between 4 dr I will only be rotating between 2 (the third dr is or will be on leave around the time I am due so I have no appointments with her)
In addition to rescheduling the appointments I had with the dr that is now gone I got 2 additional appointments scheduled because my due date is now April 1st. That due date doesn’t really make sense either as far as timing went, but I’m glad they moved it later rather than earlier because they only let their patients go to 41 weeks and I really don’t want to be induced.

I weigh a lot but so far they have not said anything so I guess it’s ok. They don’t comment on my blood pressure or pee so I’m assuming those are fine as well.

She was not very cooperative and it took the dr awhile to get a reading of the heart beat, I thought it was funny.

I got the order to have my GD test done, I’m a little nervous about it.

We talked to the dr about the Brad.ley method and their policies. He said he’d never heard of it, which makes us nervous, hopefully he looks it up. He said they are all for letting their patients’ labor on their own and them not interfering unless absolutely necessary, but than he said they highly recommend getting the epi, which kind of contradicts itself. He did mention that they encourage the use of the birthing ball and seemed to be ok with the idea of moving and laboring in different positions. He didn’t know the offices c-section rate (I found the hospitals the other day and it’s 28%) but he said they try to avoid them because they do not offer vbac’s. I mentioned my surgery, which he was surprised to hear about, (apparently filling out your medical history is just to keep you busy while you wait for your first appointment), he noted it on the front on my chart and said an epi probably was not an option for me.
I’m glad that they probably won’t be pushing me to get and epi and maybe they will hold off a little longer if I do go past my due date before trying to artificially inducing me because pit usually means an epi and both increase your chance of needing a c-section. If I did end up having to have a c-section I would probably have to go under general since I can’t have an epi, and that would suck.

I think having questions to ask did a lot as far as getting him to open up and us not feeling like a # passing though the office. Next visit we meet the other dr in the practice and will ask her the same questions.

On a completely unrelated note, when I got in this morning my computer monitor was dead. The new one they gave me is ridiculously huge. I hope it keeps me from leaving work with head aches so often, but it is going to make it difficult to be discreet about all the time I spend not actually working.
