She has exzema on her cheeks. Last weekend I started to think that is what I was seeing, but she was born with that newborn rash, or baby acne so I wasn't sure and thought maybe it was still that. She also has cradle cap. The dr wrote us an RX for both, the one for the exzema was covered by our insurance but the one for the cradle cap was not, and out of pocket the cost was $33. I love my kids but $33 for shampoo seems a little ridicules, especially since the cradle cap is hardly noticeable. I asked the pharmacist if there was anything else I could use and she recommended $1.50 mineral oil, we're gonna give that a whirl.
She is also getting a flat spot on the left side of her head. I lay her down on her back but she turns her head and lays on the left side. I started to notice that when i'm holding her and when she is playing she turns her head and lays on the left side. I am supposed to roll and blanket and use it to position her head, this seems like a suffocation hazard but tomorrow I'm going to set it up and see. I tried wedging the boppy under her left side so that she would be tipped the other way, but it didn't help she still managed to turn head and lay on the left side.
According to the dr, who likes to kiss my baby and I'm not sure how I feel about this, the exzema, cradle cap, and sleeping all means she has an A type personality.

Three pounds in three weeks is CRAXY!! Nice work Mama!
Chicken had cradle cap. I used to cover him in olive oil and then brush his head from forehead back with a baby brush. Worked like a charm! I've never even heard of cradle cap shampoo!
Little Bear does the head to one side thing too (except his is always right lol). I've been going to the chiro which is helping lots. She said it's quite common because the doctors typically pull and turn their heads when they are coming out which can cause some damage.
Or you can be a horrible mom like me and put her to sleep on her tummy. She'll learn to turn her head from side to side.
